Native Texan Scott Davis credits his parents for making him the man he is today. Growing up in rural south Texas offered many experiences to a young man in search of greater things. “Mom and dad supported me in everything I did - from raising pigs to riding bulls. They let us learn on our own, they helped us celebrate our successes, and made sure we learned from our failures. That’s what life is all about – I am beyond grateful”.

Scott has spent the better portion of his 28 years in search of “more”. “There’s always more – more happiness, more hope, more opportunity – its all around us, and it’s up to “us” to go get it – ‘cause nobody’s going to serve it to you”.

As a young man involved in church youth choirs, Scott discovered that there was “more” to music than he ever imagined. Music became a method for Scott to relax and he found harmony in songwriting. “When I have the opportunity to write a song – it’s a chance for me to step outside of myself and relay an emotion that I may not be able to deal with in reality. You have a chance to change the world in one rhyme, or to be someone beyond your own person. Some people write novels – I write songs”.

His continuing development in vocals and creation in song led to “more” as well, and in 2001 he decided to begin a project to put together his own album. A range of influence from country music to rock and roll, are all present in his original music and that diversity sets Scott Davis apart from all others.

Southern Designs Publishing Company/ASCAP

Southern Designs Publishing Company was created to promote original music composed by Scott Davis and several other co-writers. Southern Designs became recognized by ASCAP as a publishing company in 2002. The debut album “That Guy” from Scott Davis on Rebound Records includes Southern Designs first ten songs ever published.
